About us

Picture
Relaxing at the Wash Pool on the River Irfon
Jen Walsby & Paul Schofield

We moved to Llanwrtyd in July 2010 after giving up office jobs for a more outdoor lifestyle. We spent the first 6 months retrieving the flower garden and river valley views from a jungle of brambles, nettles, bamboo and all manner of garden and wild plants fighting for supremacy. You can see how we got on, with help from friends and family, on our blog: http://blacksheepinwales.blogspot.com

What a friendly town we've moved to. We have been made very welcome, as are the many visitors who come to Llanwrtyd Wells during the year. There are great pubs and restaurants, shops to meet most needs, and crazy events at least once a month:

Jen had a go at the bog snorkelling last year and Paul is involved in the planning for the World Alternative Games: http://www.greendragonactivities.co.uk/2010/11/17/2012-world-alternative-games-2012/

Morty joined us in November 2010, and since settling in, keeps a close eye on his new domain.

He was joined in 2011 by Nefertiti, who wandered into our garden and decided to stay.
